IC design is very complex process involving many stages of development. First and foremost is the requirements gathering. As the saying goes "Necessity is the mother of invention", the market research team does a lot of research on the consumer needs and the available market products. Detailed specification document is finalized and the architecture team is the one which comes up with very high level documentation on the product.
To be an architect it takes lot of experience and knowledge of the various methodologies and industry standards and tools that are available at the disposal to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed solution. So in my posts i will try to bring to you all the knowledge of the methodologies and standards that the industry currently uses and the future trends and also the methodologies of architecturing an IC.
